Good to see people wanting to tune and run e85. Just be care on your maps. It took my turner a bit to get the k04 with s3's on full e85. But it ran great. Now with the proto injectors I can finally go bigger

Hey man. Yeah I'm taking things slow. The K03 is demanding alot of fuel from these Injectors around the boost spike area. It's no problem with 50% but I might have to try some new things when I get to 75%.

If all fails, I'll lower peak boost when moving on to 100% e85. Dont wanna risk running lean or limp.

    ----------------

I'm now working on Version 0.02 of the 50% file. The goal on this one is to balance out fueling per RPM and Injector Pulse using Injection correction. Should make for smoother Lambda readings during city driving.

Hey man. Did you ever mess with rail pressure? Anything you know about it? I've noticed some weird things.

It seems that rail pressure must be built. Or else this can become a problem when the throttle is smashed from low rpm. Starves some fuel when boost spikes and rail pressure hasn't had time to built But when pressure is already built up, there isn't an issue.

You think commanding higher rail pressure at low RPMs is a good idea?

My fuel rail pressure map builds hpfp pressure earlier than stock map in both rpm and throttle position. Makes it easier to hit target rail pressure when I go WOT.

Edit: current rail pressure target is 130 bar, I have a 145 bar prv

Thanks. I'm trying this. +2 to all cells and capped to 13 MPa.

I've been reading that the stick PRV is 126. But the stock stage 2 file has max set to 130. Is there is a way to tell I'm cracking the PRV? Wonder why eurodyne has set it like that.

Yeah. I logged block 230 using the Maestro Logger (have VCDS, but I just got out of class and just had the tuning cable with me)

But anyways, can confirm that I'm cracking exactly at 126bar using the stock PRV.

Requested is 130 and I peak at 126.

I'd love to be 10bar below PRV but I don't think there would be enough flow for higher e85 content. I'm currently trying to find the max capabilities if the fueling. So for now I'll leave it the default 13 bar max.

I think before I move on to higher PRV, I'll polish the 50% file. Just gotta fix idle (too rich). I'll upload that file soon.

Just in case 100% e85 doesn't work out, there would be a good 50% file to look at. I'll post logs too so y'all can look at it.

I used the apr hpfp and the ie hpfp. The ie pump flows more just a FYI.

Oh yeah. I have been able to get the car to run 100% e85 before. But I went into limp mode once (partial throttle) and didn't know why. My friend made the tune.

This time I'm starting from scratch and I'm trying to learn why. I have a hunch it was the rail pressure at low RPMs. Hence the emphasis getting the rail pressure tuned now...

Is the hardest extra seal on those pumps something I should have? I have an autotech pump... The hpfpupgrade site says other pumps seal leak at past 135 bar. Not sure if that's a marketing thing.

You're going to run into problems with the lpfp keeping up. Ttrs pump is an easy upgrade but if you want to go bigger it won't be enough.

0.02 uploaded along with a general driving log with some WOT. my LTFT are about 3.1.

Knocking way less than the stock stage 2 file on pump gas. I was getting 6 to 9.0 knock on it.

This may be my last 50% file. gas is almost on red so I might go full e85 on the next fill. Some polishing is in order on the injection correction table. sometime ill write up a short guide on how to use datalogs.

    ---

The only weird issue is if i blip the throttle slightly, AFR goes bonkers for a sec and goes back to normal. no knocking experienced and idk if i had this before and was normal lol.

Edit. Maybe yall might find this dyno chart interesting

Update: 100% e85 achieved. No limp mode. I'm in fact pulling fuel at WOT so there is some headroom to play with.

I'll be uploading the file when I get home. Along with a WOT log. The file is no where near perfect but it is drivable and runs. Almost no knock unless it's at high RPM and that's only -3 so I feel it's safe.

    @p0isin and @derrek.

You guys were pretty much spot on on using a lower MPa than the cracking pressure. I don't know why eurodyne chose to use 130bar. The valve cracks and pressure drops hard, starving fuel. It's better to just run a slightly lower pressure to prevent all those fluctuations.
