I'm pretty sure I've hurt the engine at this point but I need to figure this out. Bought the car with the code and thought I could do this simply. I'm honestly at a loss. I haven't ordered vcds yet but I'm going to because this is killing me know the inside. Any insight would be appreciated.

Easy fix. You just need to locate your vacuum leak and address it, if there is one. Could also be caused by a faulty MAF. You need to log your g/s to see how the MAF is doing. What many do is order the torque app and purchase a cheap bluetooth obd2 reader. Well worth the $10 it will cost you said and done. I have the maestro suite and still use the tq app. For price point reasons, I suggest you go this route for time being. Pay for the full version app.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch
