Engine making roaring noise when pressing on gas

    Hey guys.

I have a 99 audi b5 1.8t. I noticed that a"roaring noise" occurs when I press on the gas or driving from 1st to 3rd. It doesnt make the noise unless I press on the gas.... even when I am in park. Its not the wheel bearings as I have changed those recently. I also notice that my car doesnt make a wind-down noise anymore when I shut off the car. I checked the fans and both are running so I'm not sure what it could be.

    Please Help.

    No check engine light/ codes?

And to be clear it happens even when parked? Have you had someone press on the gas while you are outside the vehicle to see what general area in the engine bay the noise is coming from?

Yes when I press on the gas, it makes a roaring sound coming from the engine. It idles fine but when I give gas or begin to accelerate...it makes that sound. I have no check engine lights and the car hasnt overheated either. Also I dont hear the wind down sound I usually hear when I turn off the car.

Some suggested it could be the fan clutch that is jammed.
