    Lower control arm advice

    So had my mechanic take a closer look to front end today since I've been having noise up there for some time and can not find the source of it. Called me back this afternoon and said after some time of looking at the struts and shaking down the front end and transmission (just replaced mounts on transmission about a month back, still missing the bar that goes along bottom, can't find a replacement sold anywhere). He said that after a little while he found a little play in the lower control arms, more noticeable the left side than right, with some pressure he could get it to click a little, so he was saying that it was his best guess. So, I guess it's time to do arms even though I've owned the car less than 5,000 miles. So do I Just do lowers or do all of them? Do I replace other things with the arms? and what tools do I need for the job? I can wrench a bit and seen a few guides, all looks like a lot of work, maybe over my head, limited on tools so not sure if I can do this myself. I noticed that a few guys dropped out the shocks (is this normal? hard to put back in?).

    *as a side note*: I am a little budget minded as I have an oil leak to chase down still in the car, looking like maybe turbo lines or a bad seal or two. depending on location of leak I could be in the market for doing a timing belt/water pump job at the same time.
    -All advice needed and helpful, thank you peoples.

    Grab an entire FCP control arm kit and do it that way. Replace a of them at once. The entire kit would run $250 shipped to your door with a lifetime warranty.

    I'm running the same kit with no issues. Can't go wrong for the price and lifetime warranty...

    Are the "heavy duty" arms that are available considered not worth the money?

    Thank you for links. What's the difference from the standard 13 piece to the option3 version. And do you recommend doing struts at the same time? Car has 140k miles.

    option3 version ? not sure what that is?

    struts yes if you need them and most likely you do @140k. If your going coils or something soon just wait for that.

    this --> $228 vs this ---> $317

    Looks like different tie rod ends I meant to send the link for the 228 kit
