We're pleased to announce the availability of our all-new B8/B8.5 Audi S4 Rear Subframe Mount Insert Kit! These upgrades are in-stock and ready to ship.

034Motorsport Billet Aluminum Rear Subframe Mount Insert Kit, B8/B8.5 Audi S4/RS4, S5/RS5, Q5/SQ5

    Retail: $140.00 + Shipping

034Motorsport is pleased to present Billet Aluminum Rear Subframe Mount Inserts for the B8/B8.5 Audi S4/RS4, S5/RS5, Q5/SQ5!

The B8/B8.5 Audi S4/RS4, S5/RS5, and Q5/SQ5 use rubber rear subframe mounts which deflect under load, causing the rear end to feel vague and loose, as well as leading to less-than-optimal suspension geometry and increased understeer. These precision-machined billet aluminum inserts are designed to fill voids in the factory rear subframe mounts, and limit subframe movement without sacrificing ride quality or introducing any perceivable additional noise, vibration, or harshness into the cabin. The result is a more refined, connected driving experience, as well as improved effectiveness of aftermarket rear sway bar upgrades and suspension components.

Designed to work in conjunction with the factory rubber mounts, this insert package was engineered using CAD software and thoroughly tested and refined to provide a significant improvement in handling performance and feel.

These inserts were tested extensively by 034Motorsport and independent Audi enthusiasts before release on multiple B8/B8.5 vehicles. Installation is very simple, can be performed in under an hour, and is completely reversible.

    Features:
    • T6-6061 Billet Aluminum Construction
    • CNC-Machined In-House
    • Clear Anodized Finish for Durability
    • Engineered to Fill Voids In Factory Rear Subframe Mounts
    • Helps Maintain Proper Suspension Geometry When Cornering
    • Reduces Rear Subframe Movement During Launches & Acceleration
    • Improves Shifting Feel, Resulting in Crisper Shifts
    • Virtually No Additional NVH Transfer Inside Cabin
    • Easy, Straightforward Installation

    What's Included:
    • 034Motorsport Billet Aluminum B8/B8.5 Audi S4/RS4, S5/RS5, Q5/SQ5 Rear Subframe Insert - Front (Pair)
    • 034Motorsport Billet Aluminum B8/B8.5 Audi S4/RS4, S5/RS5, Q5/SQ5 Rear Subframe Insert - Rear (Pair)

    Installation Instructions:

Stupid question because it's hard to tell with all the graphics/text overlap you have in the videos, but from the looks of it, the insert just takes away some of the gap between the bottom part of the frame and the insert itself, so to me it looks like the deflection is the same, just visually perceived as less because the gap is less pronounced between your insert and the factory bolt/bracket at the bottom of it. From the design of the insert, the parts that go into the bushing would keep deflection from happening from side to side movement, but not so much for up and down, so this is why I am saying this. Not knocking the product, just saying... the video may be swaying the visual perspective just a bit. Wish you could post another version that doesn't have all that yellow/white/text bars getting in the way of the very important content.

Good question! The insert also limits the vertical movement of the factory mount by placing a slight preload on the mount and acting as a vertical limiter much sooner than the factory piece. You can look at the movement between the subframe and the body of the car itself to get a different perspective on the movement reduction. Hope that helps!

Yeah, and I saw that, but it's a bit hard to see clearly in the video, but I did see an improvement there also for the movement at the top of the bushing... that's the part of the video that's hard to make out because of the overlapping graphics.

I'm sorry no one told you. Most of the sales and service staff don't have release dates till a couple of days before the product hits the website!
Let me know if I can help you get setup with our new inserts!

Hey 034- please check your instruction PDF. At the beginning of the PDF in the parts list you show the front mount as 601-0033 and the rear as 601-0034. Step 6 you are installing the rear subframe insert (closest to exhaust) with part number 601-0034; however, in step 20 you are installing the front subframe insert (closest to engine) and again reference the same part #601-0034. I assume here you meant #601-0033 as per the parts list? I installed as per the parts list #'s, but just want to double check. Thanks.

Has anyone installed these yet? I ordered a set and curious if I will have enough space with ramps? Looks simple enough...
    Any feedback from early adopters?

I just ordered these but am wondering is there a chance this could make the rear overly stiff/too rigid and induce early fatigue a la the cracked subframes encountered on the E46 M3?

Thank you! Yes, cheap and relatively easy mods are the best!

From our tested we have not seen any issue with cracking of the subframes. Our insert design is still less rigid compared to a harder rubber or poly bushings since the oem bushing is still soft. Our insert just fills the gaps and prevents it from moving excessively. For the most part other than the B5 rear sway bar brackets the Audi chassis never really had any issues with subframes cracking like the E36 or E46 Bmes.

If you have any other questions please let me know :)

    Cheers,

I have. Install was cake on a lift. I pointed out some instructions that 034 updated. Haven't noticed anything drastic, shifts might be a tidge firmer, but no NVH. Going on an outing tomorrow so will be able to speak about how it handles then.

It may be a bit tight with ramps only, the rear plastics and subframe need room to come out/drop. It could be doable but would be pretty tight. If you read through everything before starting 1 hour is easily doable IMO.

I attempted an install over the weekend. Could not get the 1st 18mm rear bolt to budge - not even with a fully charged impact. I'm sure with persistence and brute force I'd get them to go but decided I didn't feel like pulling any muscles battling 4 of those. Funny thing is that the bolt had 0 corrosion on it. I'll ask my shop to do it next time it's in...

Curious if anyone else had issues breaking those bolts free??

I haven't installed these but I did some suspension work this summer and the subframe bolts were reasonably easy to get out using a 2' long breaker. They took a good strong pull but nothing excessive. The lower shock bolts on the other had were a freaking nightmare.

Long term reviews from the early adopters? Im hoping to find something to limit the creaks in the rear end on driveways since I installed my CR15.

My only concern is adding more NVH to the cabin... can anyone comment on that?
I haven't noticed any increase in NVH. But I have a LWFW and solid crank pulley, so if there was a slight increase in NVH I wouldn't have noticed.

These are being installed by TAG as we speak. I will post an update here later today. I am having the 034 rear sway and moog endlinks installed at the same time, so it could be hard to pinpoint the difference these inserts make.

Okay so about 300 miles later I can say that I am VERY pleased with the 034 subframe mounts, as well as the 034 RSB and moog endlinks.

I would 110% recommend purchasing the subframe mounts (and the RSB too). If you are on the fence just do it, either one is totally worth it. My coils have about 30k miles on them and they have been getting a little more bouncy over dips as I continue to stack miles on them. Nothing compared to the bounciness from springs... much much less, but still noticeable.

These subframe mount inserts seriously made my coils feel brand new again. The vertical play/movement when going over a big dip on the highway (or similar road imperfections) is greatly reduced. The car's bounce is a shorter, tighter, and quicker one overall. They compliment the RSB very well too, which also helped stiffen out the rear.

    Huge thumbs up to 034!

Thanks for the detailed review and strong recommendation. I am super stoked now to get mine installed tomorrow.
