    Which way does the check valve go on the top of the photo

    The direction you have it is correct. check valves always flow toward the intake manifold and "check" the flow away from the intake manifold.

    What year is your B6? The hose that went bad is typical of an '02 but that check valve in question wasn't added until '03.

    I ordered the suction jet pump assembly off of eBay from a Chinese Audi dealership for 12 bucks. And I thought heck why not just replace it for $12 I can replace all those hoses with this assembly. Too bad I didn't do a thorough inspection of the new assembly. I'm positive that this was defective from the get-go. So I just reinstalled my old suction jet pump assembly because every hose and a check valve was good. The brand new suction jet pump assembly had two defective check valves. Meaning neither one stopped flow in the reverse Direction. They would just blow air back and forth freely. So I immediately noticed better brake function by replacing the original suction jet pump assembly. Also I want to note that the Chinese dealership suction jet pump assembly had softer rubber hoses even though they were imprinted with the words made in Germany. The rubber piece that is on the left side of the suction jet pump was softer as well. whereas the original was quite sturdy and stiff. I've gotten lucky with eBay Parts up until this point. And for what it's worth I have reason to believe that the actual suction jet pump itself functions well. The saying is true German cars are a lot of work. And Chinese in Chinese.
