Installing an RNS-E H/U and have questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So my aftermarket head unit crapped out. My car is non-bose. My questions are:

    1. I've read that I don't need an adapter harness since my car is an 07. I only need to switch some cables.
    2. I have an aftermarket sub and I want to keep using it. What did you guys use to convert audio lines to an rca outlet?
    3. I want to use bluetooth to stream my music on my phone. Is there an adapter for this?

    Thanks!!

B5 for the K-Line on the RNS-E I'm 100% positive since I made an harness for my B6 last week.

    Use this for reference

Picture of the install in my B6 because I need to whore it lol:

    Here's the II+ to RNS-E

And my memory was good it was C7 to B5.

BT should be the same iirc, you might have to do more wiring if you're installing the glove box cd-changer like I have.

    Subwoofer no clue

To get the BT to work, all I need to do is get the RNS-e coded for it?

You already have the BT installed? If so you're probably already coded for the telephone prep.

I'll edit with a picture of the pinout for the RNS-E quadlock and just confirm its the same on the S2+.

you don't need an adapter if you're 2007. Should be plug and play after you switch the pins.

FWIW it will work just fin without the K-line moved, but you won't be able to access the radio module in VCDS to recode it.

It is the same. I swapped my S2+ to RNS-E with OEM bluetooth and Telephone prep and the only wiring change was the K-Line. OP you should be good to go assuming you have OEM bluetooth prep.

I had an s2+ but changed to Kenwood. That one died and I have the rns-e to install. Is there an additional adalter for the BT that I need to purchase?

I don't know if I have the BT prep which is what I'm trying to figure out.

Alternatively, if you scan available Bluetooth channels on your phone when you turn your car on and you see Audi UHV XXXX then you have Bluetooth.

Gonna go out on a limb and say if you don't know if you have Bluetooth, then you probably don't have Bluetooth.

My 2008 has a crappy phone dock thing in the armrest. I'm not certain if that came with Bluetooth or some other package but chances are if you have that dock then you also have Bluetooth.

So..... I don't have bluetooth. Is there an aftermarket option for bluetooth with this unit?

Yea I actually hadn't seen Enfig's selection in a while and its dwindled a ton. I'm not sure why, but they used to have a ton of different options...

Well I see the option for $140 and it's reasonable to an extent. I still want GPS and have to get the disc for 2015 NA which is more money... stupid radio and options
