    Wastegate noise?

I get this low rpm rattle from the passanger side, don't really hear it at all under boost.
It's gas pedal dependent, at first it only happened when motor was cold but. Ow it's more often. Was told it's my wastegate going bad.
I have GT2871R Eliminator turbo, is the wastegate serviceable or replaceable?

The wastegate is permanently assembled to the turbine housing. You could drill out the peen, and rebush the shaft.

If that's that's broken, I would consider getting a new exhaust housing.

Yeah, I considered that also, but if the wastegate is rattling due to wear, the turbo has a lot of wear on it too, so replacing the whole assembly is indicated.

It's only got about 40k on it, expected a lot more. Is having it rebuilt a cost effective option?

Sure, any diesel fuel injection/turbo shop that is ADS certified, can rebuild your turbo for a lot lower cost compared to a new turbo.

Does that turbo use a custom non Borgwarner exhaust housing to make it a bolt up?
