    Took apart the intake today

So because I like to tinker with everything, I decided to examine the airbox. I always like to see if theres a way I can modify something. This airbox, like most modern Audi airboxes, came apart very easily. What I can say is that this one was designed extremely well. There were no extra noise baffles I could remove or something to cut off to increase airflow. All the piping was short and direct to the turbo too. The only thing I could see replacing was the filter element itself, it was very thick and bulky. Im going to do some research on finding a replacement BMC or K&N that can fit inside it.

Awe tuning is going to release a killer intake option pretty soon!

    Sweet.

I just wish someone would release a dry carbon fiber option. Seems like no one does that very much, if at all.

It's definitely going to be something very different in the intake market.. I can't say much.. but it will definitely be the go to intake for the 2.0 t b9 platform....

Well given how quickly they got that exhaust suite out I'm sure they'll hammer out an intake in short order. All I want to do is an intake, turbo muffler delete and downpipe. The question is- who will make a downpipe for sale without having to buy a bunch of other hardware/software?

I am looking to do the same mods, and debating a tune if I decide it is worth the Warranty gamble.. But keep us updated if you find a good intake and DP. Also, are you going to go with the AWE turbo delete or APR?

The awe track exaust includes the dp after the stock cat.... It's around 949... That should run fine and be a slight improvement running stock software.. add a turbo muffler delete.. and possibly a larger front mount from apr... It'll most likely be a pretty capable stock software car..

IMO, no warranty is worth the tune. I contemplated it early on but I bought this car for practicality, not speed. Otherwise I would have bought something with an S badge wedged in the grille.

As for the turbo muffler delete, I'm going to wait until I have a DP and intake in hand before I go messing with that. APR/AWE are going to make equally good parts. Just a matter of tossing a coin to decide.

Point is to keep the car mostly quiet so I'm trying to stay away from full exhaust systems. I don't like attracting that kind of attention -unless it is in a Porsche. ;)

I think this one might fit (at least that's what USP says) -

    http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Audi--...ir-Filter.html

Does anybody know the diameter of where the stock filter fits onto the turbo inlet hose? I'm thinking this filter coupled with a silicone turbo inlet hose (from ECS) might make for a inexpensive upgraded intake system.
