What oil cooler gasket 3.0 V6?

Car is pissing oil. Leaks out when the car isn't even running. Hoping it's the oil cooler gasket. Can't seem to find it though or know which one it is. All I'm seeing are ones for the 1.8.

    Here's what you're looking for!

Holy crap. Carving that thing out of a cereal box is going to be challenging.

Its not too bad. I pulled mine out and gooped it up with RTV at one point cause it was leaking ever so slightly.

Pull the oil filter off. Then there is a large (I wanna say 26mm nut) that holds the cooler on the block. Remove that and then wiggle the cooler off the post. It will be difficult, just make sure to take your time with the angle and everything. Once its off, you simply pull the oil seal out and put the new one in.

Thanks, did you have any issues with the lines breaking?

Nope. The lines going into it are simple molded cooling lines. They have enough room to move around if your gentle. You could also drain the coolant prior to doing this job if you so chose. That way you cold remove the lines from the cooler and have freedom with removal. It would be much easier this way, but then you need to worry about purging the cooling system of air.

If you do drain the coolant, I recommend taking a good look at those hoses and changing them if they are squishy.

I just changed those on my 3.0. The one leading up to the front of the engine was the worst. (With a warm engine I put the beast on jack stands, removed the belly pan, followed the coolant drips and... GAH! What is this sausage party?! That hose was swelled about 50% over normal diameter. )

If you have the Aux Coolant Pump, you need three hoses:
Item 6, PN 06C121058A (front of engine to oil cooler)
Item 44, PN 06C121096D (oil cooler to aux pump)
Item 43, PN 06C121096E (aux pump to block)

If you don't have the Aux Coolant Pump, you need two hoses:
Item 6, PN 06C121058A (front of engine to oil cooler)
Item 7, PN ??? (oil cooler to block)

Sounds like you got lucky! Any chance you think we could just use straight heater hose and skip the molded hoses? Almost every car I've worked on has been able to use straight hoses instead of the molded. What do you think?

Straight hoses maybe. But everything is so damn tight in there I would be concerned about (1)the hoses getting kinked in order to make the turns or (2) the hoses rubbing on something. Both not good. However, hose #7 for the 3.0 without the aux coolant pump looks longer and would have more clearance without the pump in that space.

Oh, one more tip - accessing the hose clamps was not easy. I ended up picking up a set of these double-jointed needle nose pliers to finish the job:
