About to buy my first Audi. Is this sound normal?

Looking to buy my first Audi. Great deal on an '09 A4 2.0T with 63k miles. However, this is the loudest(typewriter ticking) of the engines I've seen. I'm not sure if it's because the engine cover is off. Is this normal? Thanks!

Great suggestion with the compression test. Apparently, they are working on fixing this loud idling issue. They are attempting to replace the thermostat and sensor. We'll see how it goes. Thanks!

Well '09 was the last year of the 3.2 V6 A4, which is nice, but not relevant here.

I have an '09, had every single problem (oil consumption, bad turbo wastegate arm, etc.)... I'm probably gonna drive it until the timing chain goes and then buy a 2016 P+. Or go to BMW since they have a thousand times better CPO program than Audi.

It's strange how hit and miss the 09's were, some were fine, and some just came
right from the factory infected with the black plague.

Though, of couse only about 5% of them account for the trouble free minority.

Or a 2012 if you want the b8 platform. Exempt from the oil consumption issues and has the b8 body lines. I like the facelift front end but I like the aggresive body lines on the b8 more.

    What body lines?

I thought 8.0 vs 8.5 were identical except for the bumpers & trunk?
