    boost gauge reading 0

I installed a new boost gauge this morning and at idle it reads -14. When I put the pedal to the metal it just goes to 0-1 and never more. The car feels fast and isn't throwing a code so whats going on? Every thread I read about this was not helpful..

Did you install just a vac gauge? Lol

Dumb suggestion but I've seen weirder shit before.

Lol ok had to be sure. I never got full accurate vacuum readings from there, I'm T'd into the fuel pressure regulator.

I might try that but surely it would not just be 0 even if it was wrong?

    boost gauge reading 0

There is most likely a small leak some where in the vac line or maybe the line you installed is pinched somewhere. Check all those little piece of shit hoses that connect to the valve cover and diverter valve. Also a possibility that the electrical sending unit is bad, I've never liked digital gauges and usually opt for traditional ones.
FYI my usual readings with that tune are -19 vac and like 18psi for boost

I just checked the line from the DV up to the T and yeah it split. New lines, a new T and now the gauge reads -10 at idle and still 0 on "boost". Would it matter that I haven't installed my forge splitter yet?

Any check valves between your vac line and where you spliced the gauge in?

I'm going to guess that the stock DV is broken. Am I correct in thinking that A broken DV will just let all the pressure out into the air and ill be running rich with no power? My gas mileage was pretty terrible today.

Yes the valve regulates the pressure, and if it's broken wouldn't let any boost build up. Try swapping out the valve ASAP and see how that effects it

You have a boost leak somewhere. Pressurize the intake side and let us know. Google "b5 a4 boost leak test" for DIY.

RIP i think i just found the issue. After I installed the forge splitter, during the test drive my cat just blew off the flange to the turbo.

I did this yesterday and everything seemed alright.

Am i supposed to be able to move the waste gate actuator with my fingers? I can move it open and closed when the car is off with just one finger on it.

edit: yeah i can move the flapper completely open and closed with barely any force at all. i thought there was supposed to be spring tension? am i retarded?

I think that you probably have a bad waste gate. That would explain the boost gauge reading 0. If the waste gate failed and is stuck open you won't be able to build any boost

I have an old k03 that I thought was bad but is in decent shape. A little front to back shaft play but if you need it for the waste gate it would be good. I really only want $30 for it
