Hope your car is alright. Definitely don't think they will be trying to argue about who's fault it is now. Which dash cam do you have? I have been thinking about purchasing one, but keep putting it on hold. After seeing this though, it does make me want to get one installed.

I've been wanting to install a good dashcam in my allroad and viewing footage like this just confirms why I should. I'd love to see the look on the other party's face when they deny fault, then you inform them, the entire incident is on video.

Was gonna say she was arguing that I ran into her and was all my fault - I pulled up the video for the officers when they arrived and sent to insurance . 100% liability within 48hrs , if you don't have a dash cam it is well worth the 100-200 bucks

Damage wasn't to bad - will need a new bumper hoping the allow me to upgrade to rs7 bumper . I have a street guardian camera , one in front one in back

It's people like that who have no issues lying are the reason we need cams. I have one front and one rear going at all times in 1080p. Biotch. :)

I use my gopro, but this camera is pretty cool and it's 1080p. I see amazon is sold out though...lol

My S6 is at the body shop right now because of a hit and run driver while my car was parked. He side swiped me and took off my mirror (that was even folded!).

Camera got the license plate. Police ran the plate got the owner registration and insurance. Now his insurance is paying my claim 100%.

Camera was $450. My deductible was $1000. So the camera already paid for itself and more.

Not to mention another guy who is finishing up an 18 month prison sentence for burglary due to my dash cameras. He came in my garage to steal iPods from the car. Cameras caught him in the act. Police busted him.

I will always have cameras in every car I own from now on.

All the other folks- You can also buy Mobius action cam, use a supercapacitor in it. All in all just a $100 investment. Thats what I have hardwired to the car.

I use this dashcam. $51 and does a great job. Cheap enough to run one in the back too.

I wired in this adapter for power and tucked the cabling out of the way.

Gotta have a dash cam these days. I hardwired mine shortly after getting the car. It's worth every penny. I just missed catching an accident on camera a few weeks ago. An SUV rear ended a parked semi, but it was just out of view of my camera. You can hear the bang, though. As I turned, you can see the SUV driver shaken up and the truck driver patting him on the back.

It runs all the time, even when the car is turned off and parked. The Power Magic Pro monitors the battery voltage and will shut off the camera before it drains.
If you don't have a camera that records while parked, you're missing out on a lot of valuable protection. Both incidents involving my car where the camera came in handy were while parked.

Blackvue just released a new version that is cloud based and uploads the footage directly to the cloud for immediate access. I may upgrade

Btw nearly every camera can be setup in a way to record all the time - I have the vico battery plus unit . you just connect the camera to it and then hardware to your car. you can actually set the battery cutoff parameters .

Very nice, the cam setup looks just like mine :) I just upgraded to the mobius2 for the front, 1080p at 60fps because my rear facing one was giving me issues. Work great don't they. :)

I'm not too sure, pretty recent i think. I saw the new version on amazon when I was looking for another one. I really like the new version, much better design/materials/buttons, more solid and at 60fps the video quality is pretty much perfect imo.
Glad it worked out for you, it's definitely a good investment.

I think you've all convinced me. That and the old lady was recently rear ended and pushed into another car. Asshat who rear ended her claimed she hit the car in front of her first and then he hit her. Fortunately the owner of the car in front told the LEO that she heard the first impact and then braced herself when she realized wifey was going to be pushed into her. Until she stepped up with that info, asshat's insurance company had declined to cover the damage to the front of wifey's car. Camera setup would have cleared that up immediately.

Wow.... What's up with the FedEx driver trying to cause the bus to crash? No excuse for the bus driver, but the FedEx driver may be even worse. What if his actions, trying to run the bus off the road, led to fatalities? He would also have contributed.

My cameras are mounted on the front and rear windshields. The video records to an SD card in the front camera, but there is also an option to use a cellular WiFi box to stream the video to the cloud and save it there.

Cool so suction cup to window put an DD card in and somehow get the camera power... Does the camera record 24-7 or only when driving and if you driving it just record the entire time so I assume you have to delete the DD card once in s while to erase the video to allow more to record?

The cameras record all the time unless the car battery voltage drops to 11.8.

The cameras have motion sensors, shock sensors and GPS.
The videos can be tagged with events like a shock to the car.
That way it's easy to find your video of interest.

The SD card holds about 2 or 3 days worth of video on it.
When the card gets full it automatically overwrites the oldest clips.
No need to swap cards or manually delete.

The cam can also stream to the cloud in real time if you have a wireless interest connection available.
