    Black or Silver?!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It's down between these two S3's. Both configured exactly the same.

Can't decide between black or silver. I know black is hard to stay clean and yet it really melds well with the chrome mirror caps and the red calipers. I've never had a silver car before and I imagine it'd be easier to keep clean.

    Thoughts?

silver definitely shows the body lines best and is the perfect color to keep clean.

    Black or Silver?!

After having a brilliant black Audi, never again! Shows the swirls way too much and gets them too easily.

I have a mythos I bought last week. I did not want black but the deal was too good to walk away from and I was super peculiar about the options I wanted on the car and the availability within probably 800 miles was almost nil. I do however think I like the black over silver. Im sure you will be happy with whatever you pick best of luck

So, the dealer with the florett silver offered an extra $1 off a month against the dealer with the mythos black.

I guess I'm going with silver hahahaha

I love the look of black but it is so hard to keep looking good. I have a deep resounding hatred for silver cars (They remind me of rental cars) and therefore if the only 2 options are those...Black.

Silver if you want to be non-descript and meld into the background, black if you want to be noticed.

    That almost sounds contradictory.

But at the same time, I actually prefer NOT to be noticed

I am getting Florett Silver S3 tomorrow because ... silver. I have had many black Audi's of all kinds, black is just plain stunning and I am always temped until I remember the amount of work it takes to keep clean.

Silver with the black optics pack would look great imo.

If I didn't get Sepang, I would have gone with silver.

Silver would look better only if you add a few carbon-fiber parts like spoiler and mirrors. Also would look great with black rims and tints! easier to maintain as well as I had both colors.

yes you did- congrats! you need to remove that dealer sticker and plate frame asap though.

your first mod should be to remove the front license plate holder (its just 2 screws and 2 clips)

^ If your anal about keeping your car clean and it doesn't live in a showroom floor.. then black is bad. Memories of washing and waxing my old black car.. driving 1 mile and it already being covered in dust or pollen. So annoying. The grey can be dirty and still look clean at least. Just add some black or graphite wheels to the grey and it will pop.

Good choice. Black is a beautiful color to, just a full time job to keep clean.

Yeah, I'll probably do that today.

I'm calling my car, "Adamantium" for now. I'm thinking about getting a custom plate that says SNIKT lol

Any good shops around for interesting license plate frames?

If that were my car, I would grab a RS3 grill, carbon mirror caps and carbon spoiler....later I would throw on some big black 19" or even 20" rims...oh and I would wrap the roof in black..well the rest of the silver...Then watch it POP!

Yeah I'm not into modding anymore. The most I'd probably do is just get the front license plate removed. Any tips/methods on that already?

smart man. i am the same way. i will remain mod-free as far as anything engine related.
there are 2 hidden screws on the bottom. remove those the grab the bottom and pull up and out.

another must have mod is the clearmount made by forum member MyGuru. link here: www.clearmounts.com

here is a pic of the mount:

another mod that i did was the Video In Motion unlock dongle from emmanuelle design: http://www.emmanueledesign.com/produ...ant=2480270209
Note: this mod only works if you have the navi with the dvd player in the glovebox.

Also get a VagCom cable from rosstech. Or at least find someone nearby to help.
let me know if you need any more info

I just took a look at those screws. Those heads, what are those star socket or something? I don't have any kind of screwdriver for something like that

Oh wait, I think I have something for that

*breaks open the only toolbox he has*

EDIT: Dammit. The socket I have might not be able to get the right angle in there. I think I can take it off, but it's gonna be a pain.

Congrats on the purchase! I removed my license plate holder a few weeks ago. Simple job.

Hardest part was using a plastic squeegee to remove the metal clips that hold the top part of the plate frame in place.

You know, I'm gonna leave it. I'm in a state that reqiures it..

I think I'll just have to be creative with how I use the front plate. Any suggestions? Are there any good sites with at least some good Audi-themed license plate holders?

I saw that one too but I wasn't sure how adjustable it is. Can you position it to be in the perfect spot and not blocking the lower fog light grill and headlight?

It's adjustable but sticks out from the body to clear the bump. One downside is my parking sensors trip because of it. no biggy, just press the button.

By the way LOL at Markn1689 response. I'm not a douche and don't smoke or vape, that's a Subaru thing!

Yeah, I'm just gonna get a custom plate and put a nice little holder on it. It's the best I think I can do.

I'm not gonna go through the hassle of trying to hide it.
