    A4 b5 1.8t Q exhaust

Just bought an A4 b5 1.8t quattro and plan on upgrading the exhaust in the future. I want to get a downpipe and connect it to the stock cat and resonator and install a MagnaFlow 14816 muffler. Am I able to do that?

youll need to have the muffler welded in unless they make a bolt on for our cars.

You are honestly better off grabbing a used stainless exhaust rather that piecing one together keeping half OEM parts and half aftermarket then having to weld it together, it would even be cheaper as used exhausts are dirt cheap now.

I was thinking of getting the cx racing, but I've read a lot of negative things about the pipe

I have the CX. Honestly, you can see right thru the muffler and the resonater, so they do very little. It fits just fine for me, i had to modify a gasket that came with the kit to get it to work, but it was fine after that. It quite at idle, loud at WOT. It does drone a little but if you can give it like 5% throttle it doesn't drone at all. I like it a lot and have had it for 25k miles, 3 years and no rust.

I think cx would be worth a try. I've heard of people replacing the resonator with a quiter one, and that helped reduce the drone.
