    Exhaust broke!!

    Hi all, 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro

I started my stepson's car this morning and I hear a loud gurgle. I looked under the the exhaust pipe is broken where the end of the bend from the downpipe meets with the straight pipe! Is there a way to fix that? I don't see a flange there so, it looks as if it rusted right off. I would greatly appreciate someone's advice..

    Thanks in advance!

No fix! Need to replace the whole car!

Sounds like it broke at the flex pipe which is very common. Especially after 14 years. Take it to an exhaust shop to have a new flex welded. Or replace the downpipe.

Thanks for the quick reply. It looks as if there is a down flex pipe for about 80.00 that slips over the straight pipe and just clamp down.
    Is this what I need?

muffler shop will probably have one and can weld it on for around $80. just take it in, or if you really want to do it yourself go get one from the parts store and weld it in. please dont clamp it on!!!
