I don't think I've ever seen a "pretty" gauge pod. After all the gauge face and bezel block the view of most all of it ;)

Nope. And they look like 3D printed ABS plastic, which I believe gets brittle when exposed to UV light. Maybe I am wrong, but I'd be worried about them falling apart after awhile.

The wall thickness and infill percentage is high enough to prevent deterioration. Also that there has been a customer in Arizona that reports NO malfunctions, even in the desert heat/sun.

Hey all! I'm the one that actually makes these pods.

    I'll address a few concerns.

As these are 3D printed and not injection molded, they don't have the same completely smooth characteristics.. There are pro's and con's to each method of manufacturing.

My pods are significantly cheaper than all the other options on the market. I do, however, offer a limited lifetime warranty; that if anything should go wrong with the pod, not of your own doing, I will replace it free of charge.

Also, UV degradation is not a huge concern as glass completely blocks UV-A light, and most windshields effectively block UV-B rays. If there were to be ANY degradation it would only be on the surface of the item, yet it would still retain structural stability. As mentioned, I've had multiple customers in some of the hotter areas of the country that report NO issues with the pods being in the sun and heat.

I am also a 3d printer. While these do look good I wouldnt use PLA or ABS in my car parts. Consumer available filaments are still not of the same quality as OEM plastics. Most filaments are imported from china and there are no quality control procedures set in place like in the metallurgy world. I applaud your engineering abilities as I am still learning the ins and outs of cad based design. Cant beat making 100 bucks off of 5 dollars worth of filament.

I use HatchBox filament and from what I can see, they have strict quality control measures.

It's not so much the value of the filament, as it is the production time to make these pods. It's about a 13-15 hour print job, per pod. Consider electricity, miscellaneous supplies, time, and $100 for 13-15 hours equates to less than $7 an hour.
