I've heard that you can get some serious power out of the good old 2.0t if you chip it. What are some pros and cons?

^^^ although the only con I can name that probably hasn't been named is that it's still not gonna be or sound like a v8.

I'm not expecting too much, but I want some more power. Will it be too hard on the engine?

Look into Chipwerke's Piggyback tune, I know a couple people running them on their S4 and haven't heard of any issues. Looking to get one myself if I can find some more people running them on A4's.

Coming from a chipped car myself, I'd say no, if it's APR. Another option if you're willing to be one of the first, is the Neuspeed power Module. It has multiple modes, and (supposedly) turns up the boost, while allowing the ECU to retain control of knock, timing, etc.

I do enjoy piggyback ECUs, and with Water / Meth, a HFC and O2 spacer, you may be looking at some good power. Even if you're 100% stock, they claim +50 HP on 91 octane on high boost (+8psi) mode, and seeing as we're not supposed to use anything less, better fuel will only yield better results. I'm guessing +60 or 70 HP with 93 octane and a catback exhaust, and more if you set up anything else like Water / (something) injection.

The piggyback is like $400-something and is (advertised to be) fully removable for the case of dealer inspections.
If you read the warranty and have no issues with the way they are required to handle things, I believe you'll enjoy this method. It's a bit cheaper than APR/Revo/Giac,etc., I believe.

Remember, I'm not a doctor, just a (WHY GOD, WHY DIDN'T I JUST GET THE V8?!) 4 cylinder Audi driver like you.

I just picked up a 07 A4 with a Eurodyne maestro tuning software, currently running stage one tune from a friend and fellow Audizine member... It rips.. it also has exhaust, downpipe, injectors.. it's a totally different car, highly recommend checking it out, runs great.. I'm coming from a bone stock b6, it's not even close to the same car

    Ohh and
pros - power doesn't fall off in the higher revs, nothing too crazy regarding the tune..a relatively stock car should be fine without breaking anything...

cons - occasionally I get a CEL underboost code, exhaust smell, totally worth it..
