Stoptech BBk Pad fitment issues...anyone else?

Just installed the Stoptech BBK with the St-60 calipers. The stoptech pads supplied would not slide in without some light tapping from a rubber mallet. The track pads I purchased had the exact same fitment issues. Maybe it is by design to avoid rattling etc but seems odd considering pad swapping is a selling feature of these kits. Guessing removing them will be a challenge. Anyone else experience this? This is a width issue by the way a not a thickness issue (nothing to do with pistons to rotor etc). The pad backing plates seem to be a mm to wide to fit into the caliper.

Is it a brand new kit or used? I have some experience with this happening but it was on a first gen ST-60 BBK and it was due to corrosion between the caliper and the aluminum back plate that the pads slide onto.

It is brand new...so no corrosion. just an extremely tight fit requiring rubber mallet to pop them in.

So it's not the same issue that I had....
Did you call the tech support at Stoptech?
Ask for Pat... he is the best.
Tell him you need to tap them in with a mallet and see what he says.
It doesn't sound right to me.

Did some more searching and sounds like its a common problem....most people said they had to actually grind down the brake pad back plates a hair to get around the issue..which is silly

Stoptech responded stating that some light tapping with a mallet may be required at first and the abutment plates will loosen over time....so guess its normal
