Adding 2 Cylinders and Switching Forced Induction

There were a lot of variables that played into my decision to sell my S4 and move to an S6. I am truly going to miss my S4, was such a great car to own and even more fun to modify. No chance I am leaving these forums, specifically this section. I will be checking back in here very regularly to see the dual pulley (stage 3 now?) progress. Can't wait to see 10's on street tires from this platform.

I bit the bullet and ordered a 2017 C7.5 S6 yesterday. It is my first car to ever build new and not buy used, it's more exciting than I thought. I am going to miss the manual. Here is the build I ended up with:

    2017 S6
    Tornado Grey
Sports Package (sport diff, seats, steering wheel)
    Black Optics
Sports Seat w/ black diamond stitch
    Carbon Atlas
    Alcantera Headliner
    LED Headlights
    Power Rear Window Shade

3 months from delivery, gonna feel like eternity.

Side note: rode in a friend's APR stage 1 C7.5 S6 yesterday...was insane to say the least (480awhp 570awtq)...mods are coming.

I am selling many of my parts to a friend with a 12' S4. Havent listed my S4 for sale yet.

Congrats, I looked hard at getting an S6 but I couldn't pull myself to drop the extra coin. Maybe in a couple years when they start to take a bigger hit in the used car market.

Good move. If you have the Eurocode rear diff inserts on your car now (don't think that you do, but if you do), take them off and install them on the new car. They should move right over I believe. Just FYI.

Nice man. I'd consider an S6 if needed to replace the S4. I don't like the new A4/S4 bodystyle or interior and the A5/S5 is hideous. The S6 looks boss though.
If I were you I'd not mod it too much. Exhaust and Stage 1 is all. MAYBE coils... then all the cosmetics - tint & wheels. That car comes together quite well from factory and too much modding could ruin a good thing.

I had to wait 3 months for my S4 as well. It's a LONG wait. I had also sold my A4 a month in so had no car for 2 months other than the GF's neon - YIKES!

That was one of the biggest surprises with these cars, they hardly take a hit from sticker when lightly used...at least the C7.5 (2016+) compared to other models. The salesman I spoke to said they hardly sell S6's because they sell so many S7 and RS7. The supply isn't out there and allocations are few. There are over 500 cars on the lot at this dealer and they didn't have a single S6. Tons of S7s and RS7s. He said if I ordered from them today (Audi central Houston - one of the largest dealerships in the country), it would take 6 months. Luckily my buddy, GM of a different dealership had an allocation that was 3 months out. He just amended it to what I wanted so I could take that order.

I am only going stage 1 and intake on this car for performance until warranty is out. Stage 1 is an easy flash back to stock and my tech already told me he wouldn't flag me for intake. I got the sports package so that comes with sport exhaust. I can live with that for awhile!

No need for coils, car has sports diff with air suspension that lowers and raises with different driving modes. Car drops over an inch by itself when you put it in dynamic mode. Pretty badass!

Stage 1 and intake, these cars are putting down 500awhp and 600awtq. The pull is outrageous even in a 4350 lb car.

Makes sense, this is probably why it was so hard for me to source one. I was willing to pay more but I had threshold and it just seemed that the used ones weren't taking the typical Audi hit after a couple years. If they were in my price range, the mileage was high or they had an accident on history.

It was either pay around $72-73k for a lightly used one with most of the options I wanted (would never find one with everything) or pay $80k for a new one with everything I wanted and brand new...

Nice. I contemplated ordering a new S6 but it was too similar to the S4 and wanted something different. I came to a decision of ordering an M3. Good luck with your purchase!

Thank you. I have to disagree though, the S4 and S6 are night and day different in almost every way. Just my opinion having spent time in both.

Makes sense - I would not do coils either in that case. I was going to ask how much you paid - 80k is great value IMO. I'd prefer a stage 1 S6 over an S7 or RS7 which I find are ugly.

Silver316 mentioned there is a module you can buy that allows you to control the ride height. The pics he posted really show how low the suspension will drop: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post11867113

nonsense! not without trying the 194mm first!

...you'll enjoy it! I was in close contact to a Ft. Myers member who was stage 1 and we basically are running neck-neck when I had my 179mm crank. It's definitely a nice upgrade in terms of speed without needing to resort to crazy antics that us 3.0t guys have to.

That's impressive on your end because I am running that setup on my S4 now and went for a ride in a stage 1 S6 yesterday and it felt much quicker...it is a heavier car though

This is the position I'm in right now.

Quite a few of my friends have gotten married and had kids recently. They all drive minivans now...

I can't cope with that lifestyle. Just not for me lol.

Agreed! Especially with this A6 loaner I'm driving at the moment, making me fall in love with this platform :-D

That's what got me thinking S6. Had an A6 Prestige. I'm single, no kids, don't need the room but I really liked the car.

The last thing I want to do is bash the S4 because I absolutely love that car, but I will say this..

Hopping into the S6, it immediately feels like you're in something more special than the 4...and it should given the price difference. But it just feels like a natural progression to go from the 4 to the 6. Slightly bigger, slighter heavier, more luxurious, more raw with the sound of a V8, etc. If you love your S4, like I did, but want something with a little more to offer, the S6 is the car.

Wish i could swing a used S6 right now, it would be the perfect car. I'm looking into something larger to replace the S4, don't have kids yet but the car feels like it's too small, maybe i need to lose weight.

I'm looking at a Q5 3.0T which feels like the same size as the S4 with the exception of the trunk so its hard justifying that as the S4 replacement. I was thinking a used A7 but I plan on keeping that car stock and not sure how well i'll cope with a stock 3.0T after driving a modded version for years.

Good luck O.P., i remember seeing the video with you on E85 running against the Porsche and i was super impressed.

yes the Q5 is the same as the 4/5 just has the taller trunk.. i think even the 4/5 trunks might be a little deeper

Much appreciated. I just flashed the car with an updated file half hour ago and the car feels even stronger. Wish my buddy didn't sell his turbo so we could run them again! Luckily for him he traded for a 16' GT3RS, asshole.

Nardo Gray is an awesome color!

My plan is to go sportier after the S4, and then get a CPO mid-size SUV/wagon as the new "city beater/family hauler" since we have a toddler and might have one more in the next couple years.
