I'm going to resurrect this thread, if I may. I'm looking to do the same and also haven't found anything searching... Swap the standard headlight bulbs in my B8 Avant from Halogen to LED.

Anyone have any experience with this? I'm not as concerned about errors, as I can code them out.

Seem to be many threads on LED fogs, but not LED headlights.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Excellent, I knew there had to be someone! Which bulbs are you running?

And...did the bulbs have any wiring tails or cable connectors? How did you get them in the headlight housing?

Good to know, thank you. What did you do with the cables and balast-thing? How did you get the rear caps on the headlight assemblies back on?

    Updating this thread...!

I took a calculated gamble and picked these up since the reviews on EBay and elsewhere were good:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/272108383597
LASFIT H7 LED Headlight Bulb Conversion Kit High Low Beam Fog Lamp 6000K White

Price was right, too. I purposely went with a bulb with lower light output to be closer to the stock output (and to not blind anyone.) Install was easy. I did end up taking the entire headlight assembly out (four screws, very easy), which made it easier to insert and arrange the bulbs. I probably wouldn't have had to if I didn't have gorilla sized hands. No ballasts on these either which is a nice bonus.

The light output is fantastic. 3800 lumens per bulb which is plenty. Still VERY bright, I could see light reflecting off road signs from much farther way. And the white light is nice, crisp, and no lines. The fans are almost silent, too.

So, pretty good a couple days in. I'll update if anything changes.

theres no need to spend over $50 bucks on bulbs when the ebay ones work the exact same or better for $30.

ive had my fanless leds for 3 years now even running as DRLSs and still lights the same as day 1

I just ordered a pair off Amazon for the same price, any issues with codes or flickering?

It's been a month and they have been great. Granted, only a month, but I'm very happy with them. No flickering. Clean white light. No complaints from other drivers. Can't say if there was errors because I had coded out all bulb errors a couple years ago with VCDS when I swapped out my reverse lights. The packaging was clean and professional.

Maybe they are an "off" brand but the product, packaging, and service have been excellent.

Update this thread when you get them. I'd love to hear how it goes!
