Pinging? Exhaust Leak? Aliens? Video Inside

Currently working out the kinks in my recent F21 install and am trying to decide what this noise is between 4-5k RPM. My heart says that it's pinging and that it points to needing less timing in the upper RPM band. CFs are between 6-8.

Fresh plugs, fixed a very small exhaust leak (manifold-turbo) that I found while seafoaming, currently running some BG 44K through the tank, and tried my spare set of coil packs.

Two pulls in the video, the second one is more audible.

Sounds like something is rattling. Any work done to the flywheel recently? Does the same noise occur in neutral?

It's only under load that it occurs. In cooler temperatures it doesn't do it as much. I'm at about 4500' MSL and temps have been hanging around 80-90F. I've owned a B5 S4, and two B5.5 Passat 1.8t's and they both made this same noise when temps were higher. I'm just trying to figure out exactly what's causing it.

But seriously... no one else has ever experienced this noise before? I've owned multiple cars from VAG and have had them all do this at least a little bit. I just have no idea what it is...

Mine does the same exact thing and so did my last A4 but only after I had it tuned. On my current A4, it was previously tuned by APR and did not have the issue. I have since changed to Motoza, and the tune is leaps and bounds better than APR but it now makes this noise.

Seems to me like pre-det (rattling in a tin can sound) and doesnt do it in colder weather, like you had mentioned.

Can you elaborate on how? If/when my turbo goes I am going with a K04-015, and planned on staying with APR. PM me to not derail the thread.
