    Dvd satnav unit broken ?

    My sat nav was working fine until recently. As you can see on the link the dvd is coming in and out 3 times and then stops .

    That doesn't sound healthy.

    Edit: Might be time for a replacement.

    take out the unit and disassemble and clean it thoroughly with a blast of air and clean the heads with isopropyl.

    My plan was to take top cover off and plug in the power to see what is stopping dvd going all the way in

    The DVD looks to be going all the way in. I agree it does not sound healthy. +1 for removing, disassembling and cleaning it. Worst that can happen is that you still have to replace it but you might save some money.

    I took it apart and i dont see anything obvious blocking dvd to lock in to place . I might as well take it apart now as most probably i need new unit
