    Question Front Bumper Alignment

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Brother's 2001 A4 front bumper will not line up on the sides where bumper meets fender. On left, it is pretty close. On right there is a 1/2 inch gap which will not close. It looks like bumper is prevented from coming up due to the headlight being in the way.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a common way to re-align bumper to fender beyond the usual re-installation for service position?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    John

If I was there in person I can help. It's one of those feeler things but maybe check ur headlights and screws all there n tight. Also the guides? And is this aftermarket bumper coz they usually never are exact. Always shorter or some even longer.

Any further comments on the guides? I have this exact same issue. The headlights are not interfering with the bumper and the bumper IS clicking into the guide, but it is a half inch below the fender line.

    Are the guides adjustable?

Guides should be as in how it came and if it was replaced then should mount it where it was original. I taken my bumper on B off many times but the usual prob I hear is getting the space perfect between headlight and the bumper. But unless ur bumper is aftermarket I don't see why it wouldn't aline other than your guides need to be replaced

Adjust the bumper shock inner adjustment and iff needed adjust the side brakets as needed. A pic would help also. Im really fussy about my alignments so i understand the struggle.

Your guides may also be worn out.

So the side brackets are adjustable? Good to know will give that a shot and if no luck i'll order new guides.

My 01 brackets have an adjustment area. The holes are oval to move them sligtly. I know though on some older ones they are not so you might have to drummel them out a little.

I will try adjusting the guides when I visit brother in 2 weeks and report back. And if that does not work, see if guides are worn out. It is good to see I am not the only one with this problem.

    Thanks for the advice.
