Looking into B8 S4's, Looking for Insight!

    Hey Everyone!
My names Josh, 26 and just recently moved to Utah from Michigan and in a whole new area I have started to have rumbles of trading in my girl for a but as I am far away from the Big 3. Anyways my girl is a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, with her current mods I am sitting at around 12.5 quarter on a bad day, close to 12.2 on a good pass. Recently we have thought about getting a house and saving up a bit and with the new GC SRT8 being a less aggressive version of mine the values have actually gone up quite a bit as people pick up the WK1's.

Anyways this brings me to my current situation, I have been a fan of all different cars and currently have narrowed my search down to a B8 S4, C63 or CTS-V. What I am really looking forward to is a more luxury muscle sedan, the jeep is lowered and with the suspension mods it rides like the beast it is. Looking to tone back a little so the wife doesn't hate me every time she rides in my car haha, also auto so she can drive it when needed (boring I know). That leads to me questions that I have below, and I apologize in advance for not using more of the search bar but would love to hear what people say for my specific situation.

What I'm looking for in my S4
14-15', 30-40k miles, CPO, Auto, Sports Diff, White preferable (detailer before so done with black cars haha)

    1) Maintenance: Would the CPO Audi Care cover many of the problems that pop up? Anything in particular from those years that are more prevalent than others? Ive changed out the rear end on the Jeep so I am fairly mechanically inclined but not as confident with my German brothers haha

    2) Mods: Heard of performance tunes (APR/ECS) being covered under the warranty from dealerships, this true? would love 444hp covered under warranty. Or is it like my dealership where we had a great relationship so it wasn't supposed to be covered because of my aggressive tune and mods but they did still... Also want to do an exhaust of course as well cause stock is just pitiful.

    3) Longevity: I love to keep cars for a bit, that might change as I progress in my career but I get very attached to vehicles, I'm going on 7 years with my SRT8 now. Plan to have the Audi just as long, if not longer. How many guys have high mileage B8 S4's?

    4) Any Advice when looking at one? Things in particular to check out, what service I should see has been done (water pump etc).

If I went out of warranty I could snag one up quite a bit cheaper but are there some glaring problems that people have seen? (haven't noticed much from searching)

The S4 will be my Daily, about 40 miles a day or so, but might go up as we move so thats another factor. The C63 and CTS-V I think may be a bit to aggressive for daily use, especially with the mods I'd have planned on them, as I have done with my SRT8.

Cant wait to join the rings, have a few friends with RS7's and R8's so I'll be the runt of the litter for a bit as I save up for a beast of my own ;)

Thanks ahead of time and sorry for all the questions!

This is my 1st Audi (B8.5 S4) and I think it's a solid car. Performance is good with stage 2 flash and TCU tune. I think I read somewhere that the 2015s-2016s have a slightly diff ECU and may pose some tuning challenges? Not 100% sure on that so hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. Which C63? W204 or 205? They are both great too and offer stout performance if you don't need/want AWD. CTS-V is a beast and can outrun a Stage 2 S4 and offer more outright power potential. I've lived with a W204 C63 for a bit and loved it. Drive them all and see what fits. Good luck.

We get post like this every week. Here is the abridged answer. Just get one with the lowest mileage you can. Get the sport dif. Extended warranty is good alternative if you buy without factory or CPO warranty. Long term higher mileage reliability is good. Your dealership has no ability to overlook tunes. The first time it is put on their computer. software will detect it and automatically send it in to AOA. Your car will be designated TD1. Warranty voided. AudiCare only covers routine maintenance. Cpo will extend the factory warranty and be voided by a tune. This is a great car .I'm on my 3rd one because I can't find anything better in the price range that I want more or like better. Great daily driver.GET one. You won't be sorry

Yes, it does get somewhat boring answering the same question every few days. But I understand the forum is new to most prospective buyers and the search feature is seldom used .Bookmarked for future use.
