    Exhaust help

I recently bought a b5 a4 that had an exhaust installed already. The car is very low and the exhaust looks to be a 3" exhaust but hangs very low. Therefore it scrapes over bumps and such. Thing is it has been scraping on the flex pipe at the rear of the car. Ive never seen an exhaust that had a fiex pipe at the rear for a b5 a4 1.8t. Does anyone know what exhaust this may be? It looks to have a v-band clamp halfway back as well. The muffler says borla, but looking up bolas exhaust I do not see any that have the flex pipe there. I want to eliminate the flex pipe and weld in normal piping but I do not know what size it even is without hacking it up which I don't want to do until I have the piece to weld in. Ill try and get some pictures if I can.

Sounds like it is a custom design there. Probably had gotten the borla muffler and welded the pipe up how he wanted. Including the v band and flex joint in the rear.

Exactly what I said when I saw it. Makes no sense.

Is that the only flex pipe on the entire exhaust?

I'm pretty sure it is. Hard to see on a lowered car laying on the ground haha.

Saw this on another site, says its an 034 motorsport exhaust which kind of looks like the pipe I have but thats the only picture I can find of it. Almost like it doesn't exist.

That sure looks like it. They used to be the only 3" exhaust in town, but they stopped making that exhaust a while ago. I've never actually even seen a picture of it, I'm guessing they put a flex section out back to overcome fitment issues, which as I understand it, is why they ceased production on this exhaust.

Makes sense cuz it sucks. I'll either have to just weld in a pipe or buy a new exhaust.

Is that exhaust 3" though? So I could in reality get a 3" sleeve and weld it in then right?

Are you missing a hanger or something? I would just put it on stands and secure it higher.

Hangers there. One of the two bolts is broken off in there. Problem is that the flex pipe is already leaking. I want to fix it but don't want a flex pipe there.
