    Rear License Plate

    Hey all,

Just curious how you have your license plate mounted on the trunk? When I picked my S4 up 1 month - it has a black base like bracket which the license plate screws into... Well recently one of the clips that the plate screws into snapped off and fell into the plate holder... Just curious if the car came with these black plate holders for the rear or can I just mount it to the bare trunk?

    Thanks!

I just had this issue on my S3. What I ended up doing is going to the hardware store and bought new cage nuts. I then got a hairdryer and heated up the plate holder and popped it off to replaced the cage nuts. Works perfect now.

From my experience the dealers use too long of screws so it pushes the cage nuts out of the plate frame.

I also had a similar experience. BUT removing the black plastic mounting plate is not easy. it is attached to the truck with adhesive. It can be done. Other question is why is it so wide?
