    trans mount differences

Is the trans mount (just the rubber bonded part on the subframe, not the arm on the trans) different between 01A / 01E / 02X?

I can't see it being different but some places are listing parts as only fitting 6spd or 5spd.

To add to that, some come with the bracket preinstalled so you have the same mount but a different PN to account for the different overall assembly.

I am not sure about them being the same. Check this out > click here (look at #7). At least not from 034.

This is from Apikol's trans. mount webpage (found here)

"B6 5-speed models use a slightly different mount, please select below"

hmm things like that are what confused me, but I don't really see how / why they'd be different.

What on my car appeared to look like this or similar, with studs on it, not bolts, so that's what I got.

though now im not so sure. Ah well, tear it apart sometime. You can't get the crossmember off entirely without dropping the exhaust, right? so just loosen the mount and slide the member down some?

agreed, they do not look much different. What I am curious about are the ones labelled 'rear trans. mount', which include the other bracket...here

Is 'rear trans mount' another name for 'rear differential mount'?

EDIT: no guess not - rear diff. mount

I am curious about this because I have been wanting to change the trans. and diff. mounts, but did not realize there was more than one trans. mount.
