What's the gasket between valve cover and cylinder head...?

I can't see this on any schematic.... it's right under the valve cover gasket, and I can see 4 visible screws. It runs all the way around, but I have no idea what it is. Can anyone shed some light?

    It's a 2008 S5 4.2L

Finally found the overview (between part 11 and 21)

Looks like it's not an actual gasket, but rather a bead of sealant around it.

Head gasket; If you are considering doing it yourself, I would be sure to buy new head bolts, they are torque to yield (they stretch when installed) and should not be reused.

Not a head gasket and not sealant, it's just a cam cover gasket which is item 17 on this drawing:

That is cam bridge sealant, same used on new 2.0T 4 cyl. If you look at first pic supplied the valve cover gasket is between grey valve cover and cam bridge the next space is the sealant between cam bridge and cyl. Head
