Hey guys back with another post which unfortunate means my car is broken again :(. You guys are life savers so here we go. Today I went to start my car after classes and it started up fine. I let it warm up setting up the song I wanted to listen to and when I'm ready to go I put it in drive and the car shudders the rpms drop and it dies out. The worst part is that I could get it running afterwards and took a train home help anybody?

Does it start up and idle?
Does the power shudder/cut off when you rev the motor?

Could be a possible fueling issue -- either a clogged filter or dying pump

Car doesn't start anymore. I had to leave it after 10 min of trying to start it. I have had some studdering issues. How should I Check?

When did you last do the plugs and wires? We're your studders at lower RPMs? Misfiring cylinders most likely..

But how does the car go from misfiring to not starting at all? And I did plugs and coil packs maybe 800miles ago never wires.

I would check your wires for any frays or defects. That is where I would start at least. I had an issue with my b5 dying on me but then starting back up and all was OK - it also suffered from the misfiring cylinders and new plugs and wires fixed my problem. It still idled heavy though..

I would check fuel pressure at the rail, as well as the above mentioned diagnostic checks (plugs, wires, ect)

Autozone sells a kit, which unfortunately is about $60, but you may be able to rent one too. There is a schrader valve (same valve as your car tire), you connect the gauge to that test port and crank the engine, you should see pressure build to around 60 psi.

Test port is at the back of the fuel tail towards the firewall. It will have a black cap on it similar to your car tire.

Okay I'm going to stop by autozone and ask about the kit. How close to 60psi should I be getting? And how do I Check the wires?
