Is it just my car, or is the FM tuner crappy on all SQ5 / Q5 models.

Straight FM radio is weak to lock on to signals and drops in and out with static, and HD radio just drops the stream in areas my other cars have zero issues.

No problem with sirius outside of the crappy 128kb stream sirius is famous for.

People still listen to advertising only radio? I hate taking loaners for work, you might hear four songs in an hour.

I think there's an antennae shortcoming on these cars. My Sirius drops out frequently for a second all the time. My car before this, there were two known spots where it would drop out. Maybe they buffered the radio on that car? I love the lack of advertising, but even Sirius gets repetitive. I stream more from Google than anything else now.

I just got my sq5 a bit over a month ago. Audi connect was still active. My guess is that the previous owner bought the 30 month plan and it just hasn't expired yet. You absolutely can stream over 3g. I had republic wireless before with unlimited 3g for $25/mo. Work now provides me with a mifi on an unlimited plan, so I can use that if I need to. But no, I've never had any issues streaming on 3g.

My honda accord had the best reception, it had an antenna

then i git the bmw 530 i, it was worse.

now i have the q5, it is worse than the bmw
both these share an antenna in the back window

It is bad. In fairness, I too haven't had good radio reception since my last vehicle that had a real-life antenna.

FM is what it is, but this car is bad. I am more upset the HD radio is bad as well. Sirius and MP3 streams are good for what they are, but HD radio has the best sound quality. We have several good ones in my area that are commercial free as well.
