Single to dual or True dual exhaust

Hey guys, I currently have a stage 3 with 3" SRM (XSP) downpipes to an SSAC catback. I really like the style of the quad tips but after looking at the member here (forget his name) with the Noggy that has the black series AMG diffuser I didn't really care for the dual to single to dual and was wondering if it would be more efficient to run dual 2.5" to dual in dual out muffler to the dual tips would be more power efficient than the single to dual. My car has K04s 25psi and makes around 420awhp as it sits but will be undergoing some more mods and hoping to hit some bigger numbers and break 11s, thanks in advance guys

Dual 2.5" is equivalent to a single 3.5" exhaust. This is plenty of breath for any car under 600whp imo.

Thanks man! Does anyone have any experience with putting glass packs on these cars rather than an actual muffler? I know some tracks require mufflers is why I would like to keep a muffler on the car.

Some people have, but they look really bad imo. The magnaflow race mufflers are really nice and are what I run in 3.5"

I have a video but I'm 3" off the single turbo. I have no cats just 2 8" glass packs. The town cop pulled over twice in 2 days. I loved the sound the car. It was rece car for sure. But my medium turbo muffler gives it a nice tone

My 2 cents try it first then ad on if you want/need to

One of the best exhausts for this car (sound-wise) IMHO is ASP Tru-Dual. If you're punching out some power and have no cats with 3" DPs, it's hellaciously loud... Mine was 103+dB inside the cabin. (Oh, hello hearing damage). BUT, it sounded amazing, and price point is pretty reasonable for a bolt-on. Soooo... Food for thought. Otherwise, I'd try and find something dual and go 2.5". Will be enough flow for whatever you throw at it.

Funny you mention the ASP, a friend of mine is selling one lol. Unfortunately I seriously love the look of the quad tip (even a dual tip) on the S4. I appreciate everyone's input. I am mainly going to keep the car for the track. it breaks when I drive it normally.. or when the woman drives it normally haha

At 3", your current exhaust is more than enough to support your power, but there's nothing wrong with going dual if you prefer that style. If you do go that route, we would recommend adding an H or X intersection for both the sound and performance benefits.

which is why i was thinking dual 2.5" back. so you think an x or h pipe would be efficient in addition to some 2.5 race mufflers?

I think that would be just fine. An x/h pipe is mandatory otherwise it will sound like caca.

I'm confused since your SSAC exhaust already has a dual two-in, two-out center muffler. Why would you be worried about anything having to do with single?

Unless you're just asking if your twin setup will be more efficient than the AMG member's...?

That is what I was asking, sorry for the confusion
