    Front Grille for A4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm planning to swap out the stock A4 front grille while installing a new FMIC.

Some people done the RS5 front grille installation and lots of cutting/trimming required in order to fit the RS5 grille to our A4.

I'm just wondering if there is perfect black mash front grille that fits our car without any cutting and trimming. Thanks

There are rs grills that fit right in, no trimming required.

Nobody is trimming their grills, lol. It's a direct swap.

what do you guys think about this one? All I need is a license plate rod which will keep the license plate away from the grille. I could have sworn that I seen a thread that the OP had to cut off some of the fitting on the side of the grille to make it fit to our car.

I remember that people install the license plate on the left side of front bumper, so it keeps clear view of grille. What is that little metal rod called? I couldn't find it any where online. THanks

You've been a member since 09 and this is what you post?!

Super basic mod that a large population of us have already done. No cutting/trimming modding needed. Direct swap. That's a fine option, there are also cheaper ones of eBay. They are pretty much all the same.

Just saw the usp grill, for 219, seems cheaper than the ecs version. Any body know about them?

It's $20 cheaper than ECS. I may order it from ECS since I will be ordering other items from ECS.

I have seen the name USP mentioned in people's post.

The 4 rings do need some cutting and trimming to fit on the black mash grille.

Are you trying to troll or something?

Buy an aftermarket RS4 grill. Everything swaps over, rings included. No cutting, shaving, melting, etc. It's plug and play.
This is probably THE most basic mod the B8 population does to their car.

    Hey op, here you go:

    1. Ecs tuning sells a rs4 grille that is plug and play

    2. Tow hook plate from usmillworks is a great source

    3. Coils are better than springs

    4. Wheels are personal preference, for fitment advice look up 1010tire.com, it helps for ET clarification

    5. Tint is great, get whatever suits your budget, suntek or huper optik

    6. Always consider lowering before buying wheels

    7. Don't post for opinions and get butt hurt when others dislike or don't agree (forum 101)

    8. Tuning your engine will void warranty, check TD1 thread for more info

    9. Buy nice or buy twice

    10. Remember to search before asking, revive a dead thread, people understand that over new threads filled with questions that have been answered 100s of times

Here is what I found in the product detail of RS4 grille on ECS Tuning.

*The Audi rings must be modified to fit in the bracket, the two posts on the Audi rings must be trimmed down or removed to sit flat.

Yeah. Just cut them off with wire cutters or strong scissors. They don't actually do anything structural to hold the rings on, they're just for alignment in the stock grille.

I guess everyone here never had any issues installing the 4 rings to the RS4 grille like this guy encountered.

    OEM Audi rings don't fit

I bought this grill for my 2012 A4 and had no problems fitting the grill itself following the instructions provided in the PDF witch is well explain. However, I encounter a big issue fitting my OEM Audi ring on the new RS4 grille. As it is written in the description you have to cut some clips on the OEM rings to make it fit. In reality, the Audi ring are smaller than what this grille is made for by about 2-3 millimetres, so I ended up breaking all of the clips by trying to clip it in place while heating it with a heat gun because the holes on the new grille were around 1mm to far out. I finally glued my OEM rings on before realizing that they not only dont fit the holes but the diameter doesnt match either. In my case the OEM ring are about 3 mm smaller in diameter than the ones the grille seems to be made for. If I were to do it again, Id buy the rings from ECS witch might be the proper size to get the perfect fit their grilles but when your bumper is already removed from the car and the RS4 grille already bolted to my bumper, removing it and ordering new rings wasnt a possibility for me. I dont know if I am the only one but my car had the OEM Audi Grille so

I didn't have to trim my rings to make them fit my grill. I still suggest finding the cheapest one of eBay versus buying from a vendor. They are all the same mold and same material.

Agreed! I bought my first grille off of eBay and it came with rings for $146 shipped. I was then in an accident, and directed my insurance company toward ECS due to the fact that they wouldn't buy off of eBay; fine, but it doesn't fit as well and the shop said they had to order a set of rings because it didn't come with any. I feel like "trusted vendors" we source many of our parts from simply find someone on alibaba to supply these grilles to them and mark them up $75, because they are literally all the same.

So you bought one that was made in China or South Korea? I found those on Ebay, yes much cheaper than the one on ECS Tuning.

Anyone has purchased this foglight grille from this online vendor?

    http://carkart.com/index.php?route=p...mLiBoCUrDw_wcB

I'm getting a black mesh with chrome surround grille. This fog light grille seems to be a perfect match to the grille that I will be installing.

My concern regarding the fitting issue with front grille is legit. You didn't had issue installing your front grille doesn't mean it's the same case for rest of us.
