    APR Exhaust Too Loud

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I bought a single outlet APR turbo back exhaust used on here a few months ago and have been running it with the APR Stg 2 flash. The sound is pretty awesome, quiet while cruising, loud when I jump on it. That said, I want to tone it down and go back to more of the sleeper approach. I'd like to keep the performance benefits of the exhaust but remove the noise. Any thoughts? Are there performance mufflers out there with a 2.5 in diameter (have to double check this number) without the noise? I could do custom from the mid back if that were the case.. or should I be looking at a new exhaust entirely?

    TIA

If you want the performance with minimal noise, all you need is the HFC + downpipe mated to the OEM exhaust.

If you want to keep the APR exhaust but make it quieter, you can weld in an additional center muffler or resonator with a straight through design.

Could I replace the current resonator with the one A4 Centaur linked and get the same result?

Unsure. It may do nothing, make it a little better or a little worse. There's no way to know. But adding it in line with the existing setup will definitely quiet things more.

^ Yea worked perfect for the drone I was having at 2200-2500 RPM's.

It was installed inline with the other bottle resonators

We would agree; adding another muffler into the system will work with the existing one to help cut down the volume.

Turbo, if you would like help choosing one for your exhaust, feel free to shoot us a PM!
