    Rns-e upgrade

I just added a mk2 to my garage (now we have both mk1 and mk2 TT's) after retiring the sub. I am underwhelmed with the rns-e unit and looking for an aftermarket option (high end kenwood or pioneer unit). I do not have the bose stereo and concerned that I could lose some mfd functionality and/or warnings on the mfd.

Has anyone upgraded their rns-e to an aftermarket unit and if so, what are your impressions and was anything lost in the mfd display?
