    Bumper off alignment - Help!

I just noticed right under the headlight the bumper looks like it's off alignment. Tried pushing it back in place but no dice. Not sure if its a broken pin or clip. Anyone have any thoughts on how I can fix this? I had an RS grille installed a few months back and thats the only time I had bumper removed but I don't believe that was the cause. Also had a car wash and detail the other day so I hope that was not the cause. Thanks in advance!

There is a 10mm bolt that holds that part. Are you sure it was tightened when you put the bumper back on? Make sure to put on some tread locker on it when you check.

I had the grille installed and did not do it myself so not sure if the bolt was ever tightened. I'm assuming I have to take the whole bumper off in order for me to check right?

    Thanks!

Not necessarily, you’ll have to remove the wheel and then a couple of screws on the wheel liner. Peel it back and check for the bolt. It’s kind of hard to see but here is a picture to help you out (#2).

If anything go back to the shop and complain and ask them to check and tighten the bolt while you watch. Make sure they put tread locker on it.
    Good luck.

Since there is good info in this thread, I think I'll hop onto it. I have almost the exact same occurrence, but on my rear bumper. The bumper flares out about 1/4" where it meets the rear quarter panel. If I press on it, it lines up, but immediately pops back out when I relieve pressure. Is it the same deal on the rear of the S6?

I haven’t taken off the rear bumper yet but there should be a securing pin and flap (#1 and 2 in the picture) that holds that part in. You’ll have to remove the taillight to check if it’s there.

Thanks! I'll check that out when I get home.

Also, where are the diagrams from? Are they ERWIN? If so, I need to get a subscription and get the PDFs as others have mentioned on this forum.

It's ElsaWin. You can get it for free if you know where to search. Also no problem and good luck.
