so i'm in the market for an RS4...i figured i'd see if any of my b6 bros have bought one before i venture off into the rs4 sub-forum...

so far, things to look out for seem to be carbon buildup, leaky shocks the standard audi coilpack issues and other minor things...consensus is the RS4 motor is bullet proof and doesn't have the timing chain issues the b6/b7 S4s have...since i'll have three cars and a garage i'm not afraid of the high mileage examples since i'll be DIY most of the maintenance that is needed...

b6 will still by my daily (first car i ever bought) and the RS4 will be my road trip/weekend warrior...trying to find a sprint blue or misano red one with a black interior and all options...i've budgeted around $7,500 for a down payment and am looking to spend ~$25,000...

b7 rs4, sorry should have been more specific...

Unfortunately the B7 RS4 wasn't available in an Avant :(
The FSI engines are definitely picky about the carbon buildup on the intake valves but it's really not that bad to clean. It's time consuming but not difficult to do.
