    Warning - Idiot Question Alert

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Before I say anything, I have searched the forum and was still not clear on what I should order.

    Lug Nuts

I need to order a set, and virtually every website I have looked at offers different lengths etc.

Does anyone have an idiot proof link to standard oem lugs, or for that matter a good suggestion on where to purchase.

    Thanks

Not an idiot question. Standard length of the lug nut is 25.5mm. The varying lengths would be required for those that add spacers between the wheel and the hub. When looking for lugs, there are 2 types; ball seat and conical. Make sure you cr=oss reference the wheel to see what type of seat it requires.

ECStuning is a decent place for buying lugs and have a wide selection.

This was the response I got, I think it's aimed at my comment to him that I would prefer not to use my lug nuts but obtain new ones. (I'm not sure if it's unsafe to use 5 month old lug nuts but I've always put new ones in with new wheels.

"Out of all my years seling rims i have never had issues with an audi or vw and lugs so im pretty sure they will be fine or else i would have at least one customer call back with issues but been good so far lol"

    Thanks Sin.

Hard to tell by the photo. These are OEM replicas, correct? OEM wheels run ball seat lugs so I would hope the replica's would as well. This would track his comment "Out of all my years seling rims i have never had issues with an audi or vw and lugs so im pretty sure they will be fine or else i would have at least one customer call back with issues but been good so far lol".

Yes the replica peelers, I got drawn in by them in the end, and you're probably right, designed to match OEM.

I can't get the lugs here before the wheels and hubcentric so I'll go with my current lugs until I can replace.

I'm an old man whose spine would tremble at the thought of lowering, not to mention I work in an office complex with 20 speed humps so I'm not looking for anything slammed but I do think that for the 19's to look right, I'm going to need to loose an inch or so, so I apologise in advance for an upcoming call on this subject!

    Thanks for this KBruce!!

As I said, I am not sure if it is really necessary to change the lug nuts, but it has been something I have usually done. The wheels have come on a next day UPS service which staggered me, since it was supposed to ground by Fedex arriving Friday at the earliest, the shipping being free.
