6spd Auto to 8spd auto Retrofit

Hi all I just purchased my 09 b8 with 65k on it and I'm the 3rd owner for 10,500$

It's a great car. Had the stage 1 done(the pcv seems to be the old one tho not the ae part) and didn't get stage 2

    Before buying I test drove a 09 with a 8spd...
Yea ik weird but I didn't know that wasn't a thing until after I test drove it and it was later sold to someone else. It was owned by a Audi service guy.

So because of this I wanted to research if this is a real possibility. So far I haven't found anything on this swap

So does anyone have info on required parts and what would this process require to retrofit if I pulled a tranny from a '11 b8 to mine?

Bump. No one has entertained this idea of a 8spd in their 6?

I don't know offhand so you should check parts diagrams but I would expect this to be a substantially larger job than you'd expect. Pretty sure you'd need a donor car with the 8 speed since you [i think] you will have to swap axles, diffs, driveshafts, tcu, etc.

Financially you'd be better off selling what you have and buying one with the 8 speed.
I'm living for the day I can park something Italian inside of my house.
