    3.0 TDI Recall

I haven't seen much news or heard much talk amongst the community regarding the emissions scandal regarding the 3.0 TDIs. I know that they are still trying to approve a fix or buyback and we are basically in the dark until November, but i'm curious as to what other A6 TDI owners are doing in the meantime or what their thoughts on it all were. I'm the original owner of a custom ordered 2014 A6 TDI Prestige S-line Quattro in Daytona Grey, cold weather package, 20" wheels, BOSE, Black napa leather, black headliner, aluminum trim (not the dated wood), etc. This was/is my "practical" dream car and I have very few complaints about it (price aside) however I'm currently pushing 48,000 miles and commute about 80 miles a day. Which is not exactly the ideal setup for a car that loses value so quickly with mileage. I'm trying to plan my next move if a buyback is offered and what to expect. I've heard mixed reviews from 2.0 TDI owners not getting as much as they expected since the buyback is based off of trade in value rather than private party value. Although I have also heard that they are offering those involved in the buyback fire sale prices to get into a brand new model as well. I would love to get some feedback from others in the community. Thank you.

If you have the time, there's a thread on the Q5 forum that stretches to MANY pages and covers pretty much every aspect of this situation.: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...s-VW-AUDI-TDIs

I've spoken to a few VW 2.0TDi owners, and though to a man (woman) they LOVE their cars, they're happy with the compensation they're being offered. The "mixed" I've heard has been mixed feelings about giving up their cars because there's not much out there (if anything) that offers the same combination of fun to drive and fuel efficiency.

We own a 2015 Q5 TDi that we really enjoy, and we feel the same way - IF a buyback happens, what do we replace it with? Regardless, we'll be giving up something, whether performance, refinement or fuel efficiency...

Regarding your situation, I'm not sure what to suggest. If you sell/trade now, the value will suffer. Keeping it until the dust has settled seems perhaps the best course of action...
