Seat leather changed by dealership during reconditioning. It's done all the time and can really help to sell a car.

Really surprised the car was taken in on trade-in and is being offered for sale with the Plasti-Dip.

If the paint work was in decent shape, I would have thought more would have been offered at trade-in, and asked for now vs the obviously aftermarket Dip finish with unknown paint condition underneath.

Before everyone starts speculating, my seats were mint, yes at 93K miles they looked GOOD. Only the drivers seat had any real wear at all.

I offered to remove the liquid wrap, they didn't even mind, so why should I? They did luck out though, as the paint is pretty good for the mileage. What was even more surprising to me is they shipped my R8 out FIRST, and let me tool around in the RS4 until I received it, and then was loaded up and reversed the carrier. It was a very odd transaction....

Pretty sure anyone would have done the same in your shoes if the dealership was willing. I just have never experienced a trade in where the car didn't have almost every panel examined, in some cases even using a paint gauge, etc to check for a respray, even in cases where the vehicle was just being sent to their wholesaler.

Really surprised that it is being resold with the plastidip. Dealerships typically hate anything aftermarket, so I would think the freshly polished stock paint would bring in more interest, and money. I wouldn't want to buy a car without knowing what condition the finish was in. Seems like the next owner is going to luck out, and may end up with a really good deal on a nice car!

The car is in good shape, inside and out, they will have a nice Pony to drive no doubt. I do agree though, I wouldn't buy an unknown car.

Apparently Audi Denver is the most awarded Audi dealer in the States, they were good, I'll say that.

I inquired about the car and asked them about the matte finish and painted wheels. The sales person never answered my questions. They dropped the price from $30k to below $28k.

Tape is my lazy fix to keep the accordion part from popping out, it wouldn't stay together...

That sucks, I left Audi Denver with 7 years of service records, purchase records, oil analysis' done, etc etc.

The matte finish is just a liquid wrap, as are the black wheels. You should buy her! They originally had it listed for $35-36k, and it's been dropping over the past 4-5 weeks. It's a hell of a car for under 28, with everything up to date and in good condition.

Re-dying is such a cheap/effective method, i'd bet they did that rather than replace the entire seat cover.

I just finished my second R8 V10+, commercial. you'll see it on TV soon. Man and wife in a desert house. She needs coffee, he gladly takes off in his R8 to get it. She has one also. That's about all I can say about it.

I can say that I'm a fan of the R8 now, whereas I've never really been one in the past.

Worked on the Astronaut one also and it was a very touching commercial. Done very well as the DP uses a lot of natural lighting.
