    P0089 code.... 😣

Well I just got it but I don't see a decline in performance or misfiring. Where should I start the diagnosis?

    P0089 code.... 😣

I actually have been having an issue with the same code. From the research I did it could be either of the pumps or the filter. I had recently changed all of those components so I went with the pressure sensors on the pump and the rail.

My car has 106k miles and was manufactured on 10/06 so I'm positive I fall under the extended warranty. I just don't want to take it to the dealer to have them tell me there's nothing wrong.

Replace the fuel filtre and if that doesn't help take it in promptly to have it diagnosed under warranty.

After doing some research, this is where I'm going to start as I'm sure mine is a factory fuel filter. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I would also add some fuel system cleaner too, just to get rid of the shit that is in there. You may want to do the filter again in 1000 miles just to be sure.

You are recommending doing the filter twice? im a bit confused. My code comes up. I clear it. And it may or may not come on. Not sure what it is. Im trying to pin point the conditions. Can a N80 cause this code also?

This code is low pressure on the low side. I got it and tried the fuel pressure sensor--wasn't it. Tested the low pressure fuel pump and its duty cycle was too high. Replaced it, and the problem went away. Either get a VAGCOM on it and test the duty cycle of the pump or take it somewhere that knows these cars and get it diagnosed. You could throw parts at it all day and spend as much or more. If it's the LPFP, replace the filter along with it.

That has to be one of the most elusive codes my car has ever had. I went through a very very long process to fix it (if you want to know the details you can pm me)

Generally though, that code can either be intank fuel pump, check your cam follower for wear, or fuel filter.

I've had this code on and off maybe.... 3-4 times since I've owned it for about 1.5 years now. It will pop-up, I scan it, and if I erase it it won't come back. I noticed it appears for me during hotter weather, but it is not consistent by any means.

Im recommending twice because after the first change, put a cleaner in to clean out the lines (that haven't been properly filtered for some time) and then in 1000 miles, replace the newer filter that will be full of legacy crap with a new one. Just my opinion on what I would do.

In my case the p310b code came up due to my factory fuel filter and resulting weak LPFP. Code went away after replacing the pump.

I had a p0089 code briefly, when swapping out my internals I stupidly forgot to put in the bottom piece (the part is the autotech serial number stamped on it) which caused very low pressure in the rail. So I dunno, could be more high side related (thrust sensor, CF or HPFP) since the 310b code relates to the low side.

Just a data point, I’m still learning VAG cars like a lot of folks here.

What did you do to resolve it?

Not a single thing. I inspected the car before leaving. Total trip was about 2000 miles in 5 days.

Yeah mine pops up randomly. Usually when i put gas (car off btw). It also popped up randomly driving. I erased both times looking for patterns and nothing. Last time it came up was a month ago. So far nothing comes back up.

I believe I had this code early on when I got my car but I also had p0087 and don't remember which is which. Regardless, I changed my fuel filter and I haven't seen it since. Even if it didn't come back, change your fuel filter.
