    SQ5 Headrest

Has anyone ever removed the headrest from the driver's seat in their SQ5? The reason I am considering is that I wear hats alot and the back of the hats hit the headrest...(of course I could take the hat off when I drive but...)...TIA

Headrests serve a safety feature in case of a collision, spedically if you get rear-ended.

Yep...I understand that...the question remains...how might one remove the headrest?

It doesn't come outnif you extend right to the top? Most cars do

They come off. There's a release button built into the seat, follow the post down from the top of the seat and go down one inch and press super hard into the back side of the seat then pull up. You will need a second person to help you while you are pushing in. There's a YouTube on how to do it.

I just did this to replace our crappy headrest to nicer ones from the A6. Huge improvement if your tall.

Thanks a lot! Sort of a "hidden button"...(would an A6 headrest be a better heard rest than on my SQ5?

Nice...I just tried what the video showed and did not seem to work...could feel no hidden button or some such...did you find/feel it on the left side (below the headrest)?

Yes, believe me it's a pain in the ass to do. You really need to press hard and pull up quick. Not an easy task.

Let's go back to the A6 headrest.

How much were they to replace?
