Been procrastinating making a build thread for a while now, finally decided to sit down and do it. I had a B6 A4 USP and a B8 A5 before this so I’m no stranger to modding Audi’s. Needed a little more room than my A5 was providing as a daily and loved the motor in my buddys S4s so I decided to go the SQ5 route. Got it a few months back and absolutely could not be more happy with it!

First thing I got were the Tag Motorsport blacked out badges and had them put on as well as tinting the front windows and smoking the rear bumper lenses.




Here she is right after I got it. Did the springs, grill, ecodes and pulley/tune within the first week of ownership so I don't really have any pictures before these.







Next came the 034 Intake. Didn't really add any noticeable whine inside the cabin, but after finally hearing the car from outside a few weeks back I can say that there is a good amount of whine from outside of the car. I'm not sure whether to attribute that to just the intake, the pulley, or both. Power gains were negligible.




Installing the OEM hitch. Fairly straight forward installation, and I love how the car was already prewired and cut out for everything. Fitment is perfect but that's what you would expect for the price! Highly recommended you go this route if you're going to be towing. The cluster also works in unison with the OEM hitch which is cool (as long as you code it properly). I also painted the stock exhaust tips black and diffuser black while I was at it.








I then got some new 20" Vorsteiners from Mops and immediately had them powdercoated gloss black to match the black optics theme with the blacked out badges and exhaust tips. We added a thin red stripe to add some contrast so they didn't get washed out and I love how it came out. It's just 3M tape so easily removable if I ever decide to remove it. It actually matches extremely nicely with the red calipers, red on the badges and red interior.












Installing the AWE Exhaust that I also got from Mops. Terrible picture but that's all I've got.








It originally came with polished tips, and although they look great, they didn't match with the rest of the car IMO. Had the AWE tips powdercoated by the same shop who did the wheels.















The reason I needed a hitch in the first place!

Wow, very small world! Went in one day just to look and ended up taking it home the same day. Almost bought a Sepang from another dealer right before but it just wasn't meant to be.

I actually am looking to sell the stock wheels if you're interested! The wheels have about 2k miles on them and are mint, and the stock summer tires only have about 50 miles on them (drove the car straight to my shop to have blizzaks fitted since we had a storm coming the next day).

Needs more low....

I've thought about it but I went from springs to coilovers on my A5, dropped it low and it was at that point that I started to hate driving it. Roads around here are terrible and this is my "comfortable" car. This is why I'd love to go for a ride in your car some time to see if maybe I can live with the ride quality!

Not sure exactly, never dyno'd it or anything. I saw somewhere online that said it brings it to 436 horsepower / 396 lb. ft. of torque but no idea how accurate that is.

Went to a local Audi meet last weekend and finally got some non-iPhone pictures of my car taken!

Oh and I forgot, not a huge upgrade but I installed the DeAuto LED reverse lights last week and I'm very impressed at the difference! They look a lot better and the first time I backed up at night I couldn't believe the day light I was seeing behind me! Well worth the upgrade and very easy to swap out.

No, I ended up with Sepang with black optics. I had come to what I thought was an agreement with another dealer for a Daytona w/black optics and black/magma, but the dealership reneged on the deal. It didn't have the red calipers, with I think make all the difference on Daytona. My Sepang has red calipers, so I want to eliminate all silver so I only have blue black and red going on.

I had almost the same situation but reverse, I had a deposit on a Sepang - Black Optics SQ at another dealer but ended up not getting it due to the dealer and because it wasn't exactly what I wanted (interior, trim, and no red brakes). I ended up going to another dealer and they had this Daytona in stock and I grabbed it same day. I think the whole blue black and red theme would look killer on your car, I'd love to see how that comes out! Which interior does your car have?

As for the ride after the 034 parts. I do notice more vibrations with the drive train stiffener package, which I expected. I feel the rear end better now the shifts feel much crisper. The sway does cause the sunroof to creak every now and then over a really big speed bump or dip.

I put everything on at once, but it really helps with the confidence in cornering. I don't get the wash/understeer that i had often when it was stock.

Thanks for the feedback, that's exactly what I was looking for! I notice the understeer more in low speed / tight cornering. Off ramps and more sweeping turns the car feels very well planted. Seeing as though I'm already taking turns at speeds way too fast for an SUV, I'm not in a huge rush to do these upgrades, but certainly in the future when I get bored it will be something to do.

Love the stance. What size/offset are wheels and tires? Looks pretty much perfect. I drove a lowered one with Miltek today and couldnt believe it.
