Hey guys... Long time member, first time A7 post. My last two cars were both B6 A4's, and my current is a murdered out B8 A5. I've been having an itch for a CPO A7. Was hoping to get some feedback on maybe what year is THE year to buy... what I should look for... etc..

I was pretty quick on the trigger when buying my A5 and if I could go back in time; I would have definitely chosen another car due to my lack of research/knowledge on the B8 A5 model.

I can tell you NOT to get a 2012. There a few things that were fixed for the 2013 that I wished I had in my '12.

I'll try to find the entire list, but the main one is the chrome window trim. On the '12, after time the trim develops this "smudged" look that can't be cleaned. I heard this was fixed on the '13. It kills me every time I look at it now. Only option is to either swap them for newer ones or wrap it.

I personally wouldn't be concerned over this as the plans would be to wrap the trim black anyways. Any major interior or exterior differences?

I couldn't find the list. It's somewhere in Google land, but thought it was an AZ post. I'm happy with my '12, and wouldn't have noticed anything until I read that list.

Also, Audi releases a brochure for every new model year and list any improvements over the previous year, just search and you can these in .pdf

Thermostats and water pump just to name a few.
Thermostats is a recall, but water pump is not and likely will be an issue if not replacer to a newer version.
That's the only thing that I have replaced the past 2.5 years.

No issues with 2012. And no smudges on my chrome window surround.

Thermostat popped in 2013 with 25k miles on it. Its been perfect since.

Thank you for the info. If anyone else has another other feedback I'd definitely appreciate it.
