    Hubcentric rings and spacers

Is there any performance or quality of set up downside to having wheels that (due to not being made specifically for a B7) require hub centric rings and 5mm spacers. Intuitively, it seems like a bad thing to have all those pieces in between the wheel and the hub. But is it an issue at all, or even a little? Thanks.

I use hub centric rings with no issues.
The ring inside the wheel and around the hub is very snug.

I use 10mm spacers and hub rings because my 265 wides in the rear from a benz do not fit stock. I have hit pretty high speeds with them as well, no problems. Just a bit of rubbing so be aware of the fact that you may rub if you're lowered. Be sure to get extended lug bolts if you are getting spacers and be aware that your wheel may hit your fender if they are too far out.

Got it. Thanks for the replies. Seems like if I can avoid using them I should, but it's not a big deal either way.

Well if the wheels are not the exact mm for example I believe ours is 57mm and say you put 73mm like I did, without hub rings you're going to get an awful shake. It will be terrible and you'll want the rings. They do not support the car really they just keep the wheel from moving around. Hard to explain without seeing it. Spacers are not sketchy until you get to really large or poorly made spacers. Do not cheap out on them or you'll regret it. Get ones with the hub lip built in not just the flat "adjustable" ones. I had ones like that come on an old car when I bought it and it was terrible. Good luck!
