Getting the best sound quality from iPhone sourced music

iPhone hook up and sound quality question
I basically only use iPhone for music since there's a nearly unlimited source of tunes. I have the symphony 2+ and wired in auxiliary input, never really been satisfied with the sound quality. I recently installed an alpine 5 channel amp and a 12" kenwood sub, still not happy with sound. Have to volume up a lot.
When I play a cd, it sounds amazing, really good, clean and clear. I set my settings on phone to play high quality while on data network and got some improvement from that but my question arises here.
I believe I understand this point, the iPhone/iPod headphone jack is meant to make earphones sound good, not stereo.
If I get an enfig Denison lightning connection instead of the auxiliary I use now, will I get better sound and volume quality?
Since the radio will be getting a pure digital signal?

Everything helps - I source iPhone digital to processor - to amps all wired direct. Still hoping for improvement. I am changing to audison Amps. Since they can use fiber optic input and output instead analog rca. I think once it is 100% digital then I will start sourcing high quality recordings from the internet that should fix my need for super quality. Comes at a serious cost though.

I hate to sound old school but I prefer CD's over digital sound quality any day of the week. That being said, the digital music superiority of convenience and being at your finger tips is superb. With the digital age being shoved down our throats, we have to adapt I suppose.

Well the problem is people chop the digital halfway no one has 100% digital they have digital to analog which is very different than an all digital system. Digital fiber optic car audio amplifiers where not even available until about a 2 years ago.

I have traded emails about this with you.

This should start with the fact that he has an OEM aux on an RNSE radio and the complaint is that the sound is the lowest of all the sources.

Will my dension units sound better? My answer is yes because I have never had the complaint about lower volumes.

But what if? Bad aux cable? Wired wrong AUX cable? Bad headphone jack on ipod?

Direct digital to amps like audison is the best way to get the best sound quality but then your music also has to match the high quality.
