    Tire mileage warranty pro rate

Anyone know if the tire mileage warranty have to be replaced with the same brand tire to get the pro rated calculation? My stock continental has wore down with only about 20000KM on them. If I have them replace with Michelins will they pro rate the amount ? Tire shops usually calculate by the actual mileage obtained divided by the mileage expectation and multiplied by the current selling price at the time of return.

The stock Continentals do not come with a treadlife warranty. So unless you bought an aftermarket warranty you don't have a warranty on them. And even if you did buy some kind of warranty it is highly unlikely that you'd be able to change to a different model tire, let alone a different brand.

If they're OEM Continentals you may be screwed regardless. Mine were needing replacement at 9k pushed then to 11k few guys on here barely made it to 10k and needing replacement. If they do warranty them, typically you have to go back with same tire as the manufacturer has to eat the cost.

Oem conti pro contact 10 k miles. 9 /32 front 10 /32. Rear. I am not sure what they started at. 36 lbs front 33 lbs rear. I do not drive like a race car driver, but do take advantage of cars excellent handling .

The Conti Pro Sports that come with the car are garbage. I managed to get 22000 Kms out of them before they started cupping/feathering with 6/32s still left on the tread. Noisy tires....never putting a Continental on another car again.....those were my third set....never again.

Although the first set of OEM tires that come with the car carry no warranty, I was able to convince Discount Tire to give me the treadllfe warranty against a set of Generals after the Kuhmos did not last.

My stock continentals now have about 20000KM with 6/32" fronts and 5/32 and 4/32" rear. Front tires have a problem with wobbling and making loud noises. Dealership checked and replaced a couple noisy wheel bearings but the sound is still there caused by the tire wobble.

Weird because I have Conti-Pro Contact replacement all seasons with 25,000 miles on them and they probably have another 10,000 miles of tread left. Unless it's a summer tire problem only.

On a different sort of subect but in the same relm... what if the PSS warranty requires you rotate your tires but you cant prove it since you rotate your own tires?

My experience will be the same , all seasons are ok, it also my be the way people who have sport / summer tires drive very herd. Or the tires have softer rubber compounds that do not last. The all season coni have tread wear number of 500.
