    D2 suspension replacement suggestions?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a 2001 D2 A8L with 125K miles, and sketchy maintenance before I got it. I'm between jobs, so sourcing best of class (i.e. really expensive) parts isn't my first choice...but I'm open to considering them.

Anyone have recommendations of high-quality, reasonably priced aftermarket parts for front and back suspension parts and/or suspension kits? If I can save money by getting a complete kit with all the control arms and struts, I'd lean that way.

Thanks for any helpful feedback and you all have an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend! John

Is it true that with the coil overs, the rears are not adjustable? Kind of looks that way from the photo as well.

with any coilovers for a D2 you cannot adjust the rear, so they are basically Front Coilovers only and rear is just a spring. I had 2 sets of Coilovers (H&R) on my A8 and (KW) on my S8 and they were both the same, so I had to "modify" the rear to get it lower :)

The rear spring pirtch is adjustable. The range is dropped 1.2 -1.8 the front is adjustable from 1.2 - 2.4 inches

    Thanks for clarifying.

By "modifying the rear" do you mean just leaving the threaded perch in without the adjustment collar?

Yes that's what I mean. But you won't have to it will give you the right look. And if this car is a street car like mine then this is all you need

Just finished looking at it and 1.2" would be plenty for the rear. The fronts on these PFLs are brutal! So much gap compared to the FLs.
