How do I get my tune back after flashing my ecu with nefmoto?

I coded out my oxygen sensor and egt with nefmoto and after I did I lost my giac tune. Obviously I am really upset. I even contacted the place that the previous owner had it flashed at to see if they would reflash it and it sounds real iffy. Does anyone know of a way to get my tune back? I don't have a receipt for the tune. What can I do?

If you did not pull the bin off the ECU to save beforehand, unlikely you could have done that with a GIAC tune, and you wrote over the GIAC tune, the GIAC tune is gone and there is no recovering it. In the future, if there is a tune on the ECU that you may want to access in the future, save it to your computer before writing to the ECU.

Either way you were going to have issues, as I believe the GIAC software is usually security locked. So it was either keep the GIAC and keep 02 and EGT codes, or upload the O2 and EGT delete file and lose GIAC file. Your best bet, is to leave it alone, and go through the car for maintenance issues before throwing more power at it anyway. From the tales of changing the oil without a new filter, to using Gas Station Oil, I would wager that this vehicle needs some love beyond just non functioning EGTs. So give the car some more TLC before you give it more boost.

Then worry about getting a custom tune with the features and power you are looking for.

or build yourself a tune based on reading nefmoto for the next 6 months and logging daily. That's what I did and while I don't guess I'm using a "finished" tune I'm happy to know that I understand my car and my ecu programming

Ive read and written giac tunes. So should have been able to read it just fine.

Did it not occur to you that you'd be overwriting the tune you had?
